Patricia Luma was born in 1952 and has lived in Belle Glade, Florida her entire life. She started farming at an early age. She cut celery and packed corn. As a migrant farm worker, she went up to Delaware and Maryland to farm cucumbers and potatoes, and would come back to Belle Glade in the off season to cut leaves. Ms. Luma is active in her community through volunteering to mentor and encourage kids.
